Write to the Death

Finding time to write is not a problem for me.

Oh, wait.

I meant to post that on April 1…but didn’t have time.

Another blogger and I have been kicking around the idea of forcing ourselves to novel with a deadline.

I suggested we call next month Manic May (in which we write like mad) and proofread each other’s work in Judgmental June (because I couldn’t think of a better word starting with “J”).

Upon hearing my idea, Hubby said, “and then, Judgemental July because neither of you will finish writing in May, so you’ll have to push back proofreading.

Then will come Angsty August because you don’t like each other’s novels but don’t want to say so.

During Sad September, you’ll find your friendship ending over red pen.

You’ll try to salvage the project, if not your camaraderie, during Objective October.

Finally, in Nasty November: a fight to the death over grammar, stabbing each other with the Oxford comma.”

Geez. Maybe HE should write the novel.

  2. I’m supposed to be keeping up with NaPoWriMo over at my new blog, but I am failing dismally despite being on holiday. I wish I could read your and Lynn’s Manic May exploits! You’re both incredible writers. 🙂

    • You can do it!!!! 🙂 (I tell myself the same thing all the time.) You’re a super writer, yourself! I love your blog. I’m a horrible lurker…I get on the main page of a blog and get so absorbed I forget to like or comment. 🙂

  3. Haha! It won’t be that bad, honestly! We’re both way too nice to stab each other with anything. You’re other half is a very funny, funny man 🙂
How’s camp going BTW? I did end up doing it after all, but skulked into another cabin because I’d left it so late and mucked you about so much already I was too shamefaced to ask if you had any spaces left! What a twit 🙂
Wagons roll for Manic May, though. And I promise not to fall out until at least Deadly December 🙂

  4. Lol… omg, this post was awesome! I haven’t posted in 3 weeks and it’s bugging the heck out of me. I declare this an I “will” week, a “more posts” month, and prayerfully not a “yeah, right” year!!! 😉
