Don’t Listen to the Voices

So…we watched wasted a couple hours on The Voices, a Ryan Reynolds comedy about a mentally disturbed individual who “hears” voices. His cat incites him to violence as his massive dog encourages him to be a good person. (I always knew cats are evil…)

He accidentally kills a girl he wants to date, and then pieces her out to avoid discovery, storing most of her in plastic containers and putting her head in the fridge.

She (or rather, her head) then begs him for a “friend” because it gets really lonely in the fridge. Long story short, she ends up with two additional “friends.” I won’t give away the end in case you want to watch, but…it’s a total waste of time.

As the credits rolled, Hubby looked over at me.

“If our girl asks for a bunch of Tupperware for Christmas this year, well…you’re in real trouble.”

Humor, my friends, is how we survive. Don’t give up. No matter how hard things get, you can always find something to laugh about.

    • Yeah…but I took my mom to see Age of Adeline, and I thought that was pretty good. Let me know what you think when you get it there. I can’t think of anything offensive in it other than implied. ..”relations”… (as the characters wake in the same bed next morning, my mom turns to me and says, “wow, they got married already!” She likes to imagine I still don’t know about all…”that.”) 🙂 Has Chappie come out yet? Interested to hear if you think it accurately portrays SA.

      • Unfortunately the nearest movie theatre is 2 hour away from us. And the cost is quite prohibitive. I have to wait till movies come out on DVD. Then the little DVD rental place closed here, so I have to rent on iTunes, but that not only costs to rent, we pay for data download and an average movie download is over a gig and I only get 5 gigs a month for all Internet. It’s not meant to be a whine, just to say that I miss most movies. When my mom used to visit she’d bring DVDs, so I have a big library that I watch over and over again (when ironing). I can almost quote movies like “Dan in Real Life” and I Am Sam” from memory. 😊
