Adoption = Forgiveness…a Work in Progress

Our son, regarding a former foster parent:

“He was so mean. When he yelled at me, sometimes I just wanted to bite him ’till he bleed.” (sic)

Yeah, kiddo…I get that.

  1. I love reading your blog, and I just wanted to say that I think it’s great what you’re doing for your foster kids. Your kids are lucky to have you 🙂

    • Thanks so much for reading, AP! They came to live with us as foster 3.5 years ago, and we were finally able to adopt them 1.5 yrs ago. The actual adoption was a long process and the emotional repair is an even longer process, but we’re really happy that they’re actually starting to talk about the things that happened to them. It took a long time for them to have enough trust to do that. Thanks for your support and encouragement!

  2. Rough stuff. I’m so sorry he had to experience that and feel that way.
